Alexandra Volpicelli ‘14, Reiley Johnson ‘15, Allegra Udell ‘15, Anna Whittell ‘15, Olivia Bowman ’16  and Tiffany Cappellari ’16 have been selected by the Visual Arts Faculty at Marymount High School as finalists in the Robert Graham Memorial Art Exhibition Art Competition.  On March 9th, these young artists will attend a special event at the Los Angeles Cathedral to receive their awards and meet with the sponsors of the competition. This exhibit will run from March 9th through May 2nd 2014. A sampling of these works of art can be seen to the right of this article.

The exhibition, named for the renowned Los-Angeles based sculptor Robert Graham (1938-2008) focuses on the late artist's passion for mentoring future artists.

In other news, Elizabeth Nolan ‘16 is a finalist in the Scholastic Art Awards, winning the silver key in the painting category.  More than 1,900 individual artworks by California students, representing fifteen categories of visual arts, were selected to receive Gold and Silver Keys or Honorable Mentions.
