Students connect to each other and the world at annual retreats

During the week of September 15th, the Marymount Community took a breather from an already busy semester to participate in the long-standing tradition of class retreats.

Led by members of the Marymount faculty, the retreat program is designed to strengthen bonds between classmates, while also providing students with a view into to the world around them and the important role each plays within it.

Each class had a distinct experience. The freshman spent the week on campus, exploring issues of friendship, loyalty, inner strength, and how to make a difference in the world. Sophomores ventured off campus to A Place Called Home and the Los Angeles Food Bank, packing tens of thousands of pounds of supplies for families in need. The juniors and seniors traveled off campus for the week, spending their days and nights together at retreats in Malibu and Ojai, digging deeper into their relationships with each other and readying themselves for the college-planning challenges that are ahead.
