Volleyball wins big in the first round

The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Newport Harbor 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-20) in the first round of the Division 1AA CIF-SS Volleyball Championships.

Tyler Spriggs showed what a powerful force she is as she led the Sailors with 15 kills. Michaela Keefe had an all-around stunning performance with 14 kills and 15 digs. Caitlin Keefe had an incredible night as she racked up 14 digs and 6 blocks. Kelly Byrne was solid on “D” with18 digs and Kyra Smith produced 10 kills and 7 blocks in the Sailor victory.

The Sailors will now travel to Torrance on Thursday to face off against Del Rey League Champions, Bishop Montgomery High School. The Knights go into the match with a 23-4 record while our Mission League Champs post an overall record of 26-7. Good Luck, Sailors!
