Marymount students help to make beautiful music at the 11th Annual CAIS Honor Music Festival

Recently, three of our talented music students, Madeleine Ryan ’16, Emily Torp ‘17, and  Kelli Staake ‘16, traveled to Calabasas to join hundreds of the finest student musicians from CAIS schools in the region for the 11th Annual CAIS Southern Section Honor Music Festival.

Madeleine (soprano), Emily (clarinet) and Kelli (violin), participated in the Honor Choir, the Honor Band and the Honor Orchestra, respectively.  Along with the other young musicians, they rehearsed all evening on Friday, February 6th and all day on Saturday, February 7th. These student musicians culminated their efforts by participating in three magnificent concerts under the direction of world-class conductors at the Carlson Family Theater on the Viewpoint School campus.

The CAIS Honor's Music Festival provides select music students, chosen by their school music teachers, the opportunity to make music in a challenging, yet friendly environment. Students work with outstanding band, choir, and string orchestra conductors and within 24 hours of meeting their ensemble, participate in a culminating performance.
