Marymount strives to prepare students to be mature, independent and responsible young women ready to meet the continued rigors and challenges of college life.  As a college preparatory school focused on the individual student and her needs, it is fitting that we counsel each student and her family through the entire college admission process.  We at Marymount endeavor to match each student’s abilities, preferences and strengths to the best possible corresponding college or university.

During the spring semester of junior year students meet individually and in small groups with the Directors of College Counseling.  These meetings continue throughout the fall semester of the students’ senior year.  Students and families will schedule their individual meetings, as needed. Group meetings will be conducted through weekly Human Development classes.

Marymount’s College Counseling office provides one evening program per year for students and parents for each grade level.  Respectively, the content of the College Nights are specifically tailored and appropriate to the needs of each grade level.  The College Counseling office also sponsors one Financial Aid Night a year. 

At Marymount, College Counseling complements the student’s personal growth and development.  As a result, the college search, application, and decision-making process are both individualized and student focused.  This process demands the student’s personal reflection and discernment; time, research, energy and effort are required.  We in the College Counseling Office are pleased and eager to engage in this journey with our students and their families.  We look forward to an exciting and informative partnership!
