Marymount Summer School 2024

Marymount's 2024 Summer School will take place mostly on campus, with two Zoom options for Intro to Computer Science.

There are multiple programs to choose from for Marymount's 2024 Summer School. Programs vary in schedule, length, and credit so pay close attention to each course description to understand the expectations and schedules for each class.

Enrichment courses are intended to help prepare students for their time at Marymount with writing, algebraic knowledge, or executive functioning skills.  These courses do not appear on your Marymount transcript. Although students should plan to attend as many class sessions as they can, they will still be able to pass the course with absences.

Credit-bearing courses allow students to fulfill Marymount's academic requirements and may allow students to advance in certain academic paths, specifically math. Credit-bearing courses will appear on a student's Marymount transcript, and because the courses are accelerated and condensed there is a very strict attendance policy. Students who hopes to pass and receive credit for a credit-bearing course at Marymount should not have any absences.

Most credit-bearing courses are only open to currently enrolled  Marymount students. Rising 9th grade students are not eligible to enroll. These classes include Physical Education and Introduction to Computer Science. Incoming 9th graders who are interested in enrolling in Geometry must receive prior approval from Ms. Julie Whittell, Academic Dean.

Attendance Policy

Attendance Policy
Attendance at Marymount Summer School is very important. We understand that your summer may be full of other priorities and obligations, but you should make every effort to attend class.

If you are enrolling in a credit-bearing course (Geometry, Computer Science, Physical Education, or Digital Film) you should not plan on more than one absence for the course. Because summer courses condense a semester or year long curriculum, each class missed represents a large portion of material.

If you are enrolling in an enrichment course, because the course is non credit-bearing absences may be acceptable, however you will need to communicate your absences with your teacher.

Withdrawal Policy & Class Cancellation

Withdrawal Policy & Class Cancellation
A student who withdraws from a class prior to Friday, May 31 will receive a refund, minus a $50 processing fee.  After May 31, you will receive a refund minus a $150 processing fee. Once classes commence, tuition is forfeited.

Please note that if a class does not enroll a sufficient number of students, the class will be cancelled. We will notify you when this decision has been made, after enrollment has been closed. At that time you may either choose to join another class or receive a full refund.

Summer Athletics

During the summer months, we offer sport-specific programs to help the Sailors stay active and involved during their time away from the classroom. Summer Athletics are open to all current students, including incoming ninth-graders. Tennis, Golf, Volleyball, and Cross Country use these months to prepare for the upcoming fall season. Our three winter sports, Basketball, Soccer, and Water Polo tune up their skills and focus on the fundamentals. All athletes, including returners, must register online before attending any sessions.

Head over to our Summer Athletics page to learn more about each program and register.
