Philip "PJ" Petrone

Mr. Petrone joined Marymount in 2012 after spending over a decade in college admission at the University of Rhode Island, New York Institute of Technology, Sea Education Association and Whitman College. During the 2008-2012 academic years PJ was the Assistant, and later Associate, Director for the California Regional Admission Office of Whitman College. He was responsible for the recruitment, evaluation and enrollment of all Californians, over 20% of Whitman's incoming classes.
 
PJ has gained a breadth of experiences over his career at a wide variety of institutions, and has traveled nationally to visit students and schools, most extensively along the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts. PJ is a graduate of the College Board's Enrollment Leadership Institute, served on the Union College Counselor Advisory Group, and is the former Board Chair for Colleges that Change Lives, where he was a Board member from 2011 through 2017.  PJ is active in NACAC, WACAC, ACCIS and the College Board, consistently attending conferences, webinars and campus visit programs to stay current on trends in secondary and higher education.
 
Originally from Long Island, New York, PJ earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Science in school counseling from the New York Institute of Technology.
