The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the types of essays they will write in high school, with a specific emphasis on the structure and analysis expected in Marymount English classes. The focus of this course is on analytical essay writing. Students will write descriptive, persuasive, and expository essays based on their understanding of assigned class texts, including the assigned summer reading novel. Additional topics will include correct usage of grammar and writing fluency.
