JV Soccer played a good game Monday, but chance after chance, the team just couldn't find the back of the net. Defensively, Caroline K. '26 and Reagan F. '23 had great performances, helping keep the shutout. Standing at 2-2-2 in league, the Sailors play Harvard Westlake on Wednesday for their last home game of the season.
Varsity Water Polo went up against Kennedy on Monday for a home game. The whole team fought hard and won, with a final score of 10-7. Eliza G. '25 scored 5 goals, Izzy M. Varsity Water Polo went up against Van Nuys on Friday. It was a very close and exciting game. The Sailors lost 9-10 but only after two overtime periods. Seniors Sophia B. '23 and Kate S. '23 led the team in scoring, with 4 goals and 2 goals, respectively. Shoutout to Leila L. '25, who usually plays goalie, for her contributions in the field for the first time! Varsity Basketball played Immaculate Heart this weekend on our home court. The Sailors faced a tough loss, but performed their hardest until the end. Shoutout to Janella H. '24 for the impressive 3's! Varsity will be back to play Louisville on Tuesday.
JV Soccer hosted Chaminade at Airport Park for an early game Friday. The Sailors quickly went up 1-0 in the first half and the Sailors had control. Soon after halftime, the Eagles scored on a close penalty kick to bring the score to a tie. The Sailors responded and scored a second goal off a corner kick from Gigi D. '25. From there, keeper Shelby S. '26 kept our net secure until the final whistle. On to the next game on Monday against Notre Dame Sherman Oaks at 10am.
Varsity Soccer played an excellent game against a very strong Chaminade team on Friday. The game was tied 0-0 at the half, and the Sailors continued to battle. Unfortunately, the Eagles slipped through our defense twice in the second half to bring the final to 0-2. On to next week, where the Sailors face three league opponents on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
JV Basketball played their first game of the new year against Fullerton at home. Despite the loss, the team continued to played harder each quarter, significantly catching up to the score in the final quarter. The Sailors will be back to take on Immaculate Heart this Saturday the 14th at 3pm!

Another bittersweet tie yesterday for Varsity Soccer. Playing away at Sierra Canyon, Marymount was still unable to get the first win in the difficult Mission league, but again showed great resilience. At halftime the Sailors were down 0-1, but the team put together a great comeback in the second half. Milla K. '24 scored a beautiful goal in the final few minutes, with an assist from Bella D. '23, to tie the game. The squad now gets ready to face Chaminade on Friday.

Varsity Basketball won their first game of the new year by over 40-point points! The Sailors showed wonderful teamwork with some solid passes and assists, scoring several powerful layups. Shoutout to Reese J. '26 and Ashley S. '26 for leading the team in scoring. Sienna B. '25 also got in a few threes! The Sailors head to John Burroughs High School to play Cesar Chavez this Saturday at 11:30am!
Varsity Soccer went 2-2 through four games at the South Torrance Tournament in late December. The team finished 7th out of 16 teams. On the second weekend of competition, the Sailors took the win against North Torrance, 3-0. Milla K. '24 , Eloise M. '26 and Jillian D. '23 each scored a goal and goalie Jaya B. '23 earned her second shutout of the tournament. The next game was a close one against La Mirada, with the Sailors ultimately falling 0-1. All players contributed with great performances in preparation for the tough Mission League, which will restart on January 9th.
