Historian Sr. Kathleen Connell shares stories of Mother Butler
"Your calling is so much more profound than the many different things that you do, the many hats that you wear."
On Thursday, February 21, the Marymount community welcomed Sr. Kathleen Connell from Marymount London, to campus to give a presentation about our foundress, Mother Joseph Butler.
A prolific Historian currently working on a biography of of Mother Butler, Sr. Kathleen gave us a glimpse into the life and work of Mother Butler, her beginnings in Ireland, her journey, and varied roles she took on (a 'real-estate developer,' an 'architect,' an educator, mentor) while traveling the many thousands of miles, over and over, between Europe, New York and Los Angeles, to start the foundations we know today as Marymount Schools.
Thank you to Sr. Kathleen for sharing the story of Mother Butler, who lived an extraordinary life to fulfill and support her calling.
