Why Marymount

Marymount Girls Are:

curious, collaborative, intelligent, and enthusiastic.

At Marymount, students thrive in an inclusive community where they challenge themselves in and out of the classroom and are empowered to advocate for themselves and others. Marymount girls are leaders: they lead student council, captain sports teams, direct plays, and more. Our students are collaborative and celebrate the success of their peers with as much enthusiasm as they do their own. Discover what makes Marymount special!

Our Vision & Mission

Deeply rooted in the inclusive and expansive RSHM tradition, we operate from a clear focal point,

"That all may have life and have it to the full."

This guides us in all we do, never wavering from who we are and our purpose.  We are Marymount.

Committed to serving and bettering the world, Marymount students learn from an integrated service learning curriculum and program.

Service learning begins in the classroom and is tied directly to the Religious Studies curriculum, engaging students first in dialogue and examination of social issues, then calling them to move beyond our walls to the outside world. Service projects are often completed in collaboration with our partners at "A Place Called Home," an after school program for low-income youth in South Central Los Angeles, offering a safe place to study, play and learn. Through this, our students learn how their unique skillsets and actions have a direct and immediate impact on our local community.

Additionally, Grades 11 and 12 focus on issues of social justice with various non-profits.  This intensive work educates our girls on all aspects of the missions and operations of organizations and how they serve their communities, teaching not only the value of service, but the day-to-day details and knowledge necessary for non-profits to be able to function.

Additionally, classrooms are outfitted with iPads, SmartBoards and TI-Nspire Calculators, ultimately providing an immersive technology experience through use of the latest tools to succeed in all areas of school life.
