Varsity Soccer vs Notre Dame SO – 1.14.19

In a performance that will go down in history as an epic battle in the rain from warm-up all the way to the final whistle, Marymount Varsity earned its first EVER Division 1 Mission League win. The first half, NDSO seemed to be in control of the game creating a few chance goals that even with the extreme slippery conditions, keeper Nathalie M. handled without any problems.
 
 
The defense, anchored by captain Alex M., with help from Amanda H. and Anna S., all had outstanding performances. In the second half, the rain intensified making everything about the day incredibly difficult.The midfielders stepped up their performances and steadily took control of the game creating the most dangerous scoring chances for Marymount.The winning goal was scored mid-way through the second half, on a beautiful 1 on 1 run by Ava H., assisted by Lucia P. and Jackie M. NDSO gave it their all in trying to tie the game, but the Sailors prevailed. The entire roster played and every single player was soaked to the bone. Marymount wins 1-0.After 4 games and with 4 games left to go, Marymount is 1-1-2 in League (5-6-2 overall) and in a good position to make playoffs.
