Varsity Basketball Wrap Up – 2019-20

The Sailors started off the preseason with a 0-4 record. The team adapted quickly with a change in offense to accommodate Marymount’s size and speed. The Sailors improved and became competitive in every game, finishing 11-18 overall and 3-5 in the Sunshine League. They finished in tied 3^rd place in league therefore had to play a tie-breaker game against Flintridge Sacred Heart. That win earned the Sailors a birth in CIF playoffs. The Sailors played a tough game but fell short and narrowly lost their CIF wildcard game against Schurr High School.

Tournament highlights for the season included Marymount taking home 2nd place in the Las Vegas Gator Classic Gold Division where Nicolette Agajanian was named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Sailor’s will lose 4 seniors this year, and will now focus on the returning 6 players as well as prepare for spring basketball class and club season play April-July. Focusing on back to basic skill sets, such as dribbling, shooting, free throws, and learning how to finish around the basket.

Coach Edison is very proud of the hard work, dedication, and intensity the team brought to every game and practice throughout the season.
