Holiday Happenings at Marymount

The joy of the holiday season shined brightly throughout our Marymount community this December.
While many events were held in slightly unconventional ways, Marymount's annual traditions triumphed on through virtual settings. Students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, alumnae, and Les Anges (parents of alumnae) were able to connect and enjoy some level of festive normalcy in creative ways.

Visual Arts Showcase and Performing Arts Concert
This week's culminating winter event included shining highlights of our talented Visual Arts Department, with student artists showcasing their work, all gathered from an extraordinary semester. Similarly, Marymount’s Performing Arts Department live-streamed their winter concert. Students in choir, orchestra, and dance dazzled and brought holiday cheer into our hearts and homes. If you missed out on any of these events, you can view them on demand: Visual Arts Showcase and Winter Concert 2020.

Holiday Parade
On Friday, December 11, families, faculty, and staff enjoyed a brief drive through of Marymount’s campus for a festive and socially distanced, Christmas Holiday Parade. Holiday bags, lovingly prepared by staff and administrators, were given to all who attended.

Advent Mass
That same morning, on Friday, December 11, Marymount’s annual Advent Mass, held virtually, harmoniously brought our community together to celebrate the approaching holidays. The overarching message of the Mass was to find joy during the waiting periods of our life and remembrance of the grace surrounding us, which offered timely reassurance to navigate challenging times.

ASB's Virtual Winter Week
To round off our holiday festivities, Marymount's ASB planned four days of fun to truly get everyone into the spirit. From holiday pajamas, ugly sweaters to creative winter Zoom backgrounds, it was truly the best way to lead into winter break, even if our community cannot share this time together in person.

May your upcoming Christmas break and holidays be filled with love, joy, and a celebration of abundant blessings.
