Marymount Hosts 15th Annual MUN Conference

On Sunday, March 14, Marymount hosted its fifteenth annual Model United Nations (MUN) Conference virtually. Over 200 students joined the live Zoom event which garnered compliments from spectators and delegates alike.
Twenty six of Marymount’s MUN students ran the conference and nineteen Sailors new to the program competed. Every member of Marymount’s eight daises were poised, confident and in charge of their topic and committee. Junior Tori H. compiled an opening video utilizing content by Sophia S. ‘21, Abby A. ‘21, and Sofia G. ‘21. Olivia C. ‘21 emceed the closing ceremony where all senior members of Marymount’s MUN program summed up their experience throughout the years.

With the theme “Protect. Preserve. Prosper,” the 2021 MM-MUN Conference sought to reexamine the social, political and economic discourse that perpetuates environmental changes and crises in our global community. Engaging in passionate discussion and active debate, this conference served as one step toward fostering peace and prosperity in our world.
