2021 Mentor Appreciation Dinner

On Wednesday, Oct. 13, Marymount hosted the annual Mentors Dinner to celebrate the successful completion of the 2021 Internship Program and to honor the program's Mentors who generously worked with our students this year.
The event brought together more than 100 guests, including the Internship Mentors and students who participated in this year's program. Six girls spoke about their experiences this past summer, ranging from pediatric interventional cardiology in the UCLA Cardiothoracic Department to participating in marine biology research at Heal the Bay. Despite many restrictions due to the global pandemic, students were still able to have meaningful hands-on internship experiences.

Nora A. '22, who interned with UCLA Cardiothoracic Department says the skills learned were invaluable. "Without the support of my mentors, this would have never been possible," said Nora. "They pushed us to explore more about ourselves and our capabilities in ways we've never done before. At the end of the day, our work was meaningful, and not just because we were doing impactful work. But, also because the work we did helped us grow both professionally and personally."

This celebratory dinner was truly a beautiful evening and a perfect end to this year's program.
