In our “Senior Spotlight” series, we catch up with a few of our Seniors to find out how they are feeling as they wrap up their high school experience and look back on their four years here at Marymount. Read our chat with Olivia S. '17 here:

(MHS): How are you feeling as you approach Graduation and finish up your Marymount Experience?

(OS): As I approach my graduation, I am excited and looking forward to going to college in the fall, but I will also definitely miss the Marymount community next year. I feel as though I have learned so much at Marymount throughout the past four years, both academically and personally, that will serve me well in college and beyond, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to attend such an amazing school.
What’s next for you after Marymount? Any plans for the summer before you embark on your next adventure?
After Marymount, I plan on attending Harvard University in the fall, and I am looking forward to moving to the east coast, meeting new people, and furthering my education.
What activities, sports and/or classes have been most meaningful and impactful for you throughout your four years? Are you planning to pursue any of these in College?
While at Marymount, I have really enjoyed serving on the Model United Nations Secretariat, as well as my internship with the UCLA Steve Tisch BrainSPORT Program. I feel as though both of these activities have aided in improving my communication skills, and they have also helped develop my extracurricular and career interests, which I plan to continue pursuing in college.
What advice do you have rising seniors for getting the most out of their senior year at Marymount?
I would tell rising seniors to strive to enjoy their senior year, seek out opportunities and resources that they have not had a chance to explore thus far, and to take advantage of their final days at Marymount, despite the enormous stress of studying and college applications.

What can incoming Freshmen expect from their next four years at Marymount?

I would tell girls who are considering attending Marymount for high school about the welcoming, friendly atmosphere and camaraderie amongst the student body. Marymount offers the perfect balance of an academically challenging environment and an immensely supportive one that empowers girls and enables us to be successful after we graduate.
