In an industry dominated by men, Marymount’s Digital Film program works to encourage women to take the lead.
With female directors making up only 4.2% of the 100 top-grossing American films, Marymount builds the strength, confidence, and eye for girls to begin their start in this industry. In Marymount’s Digital Film classes, our girls write, direct, and edit their own films, learning all aspects of pre- and post-production. Using STEAM concepts, they develop projects that often incorporate issues of social justice, ethics, and global awareness. Twice a year, we showcase their work in evening screenings for faculty, friends and family.
