DTASC performers shine at annual Shakespeare Festival

On Saturday, April 5, while most Marymount students were enjoying their last days of spring break, more than 20 Marymount students traveled to Chatsworth to perform in the Drama Teachers Association of Southern California (DTASC) annual Shakespeare festival.

Students performed honors-earning scenes in categories such as Quest for the Throne, Clowns and Fools, Children's Theater, and even a Star Trek piece, based on Macbeth, in the Modern Shakespeare category.

Sophie Cahalan ‘14, Nikki Hauser ‘15, Kelley McGinnis ‘15, and Valentina Povolo ‘16 took home the first place trophy for their stellar performance of adapted scenes from Much Ado About Nothing for an audience of first-fifth graders for the Shakespeare's Children's Theater category.
