"Find your song, your inner voice and in moments of challenge, rise up..."

In what has become an interfaith holiday tradition at Marymount, Rabbi Lori Shapiro took some time out of her morning to give us the gift of her story and journey to Judaism. Founder of The Open Temple in Venice, CA, Rabbi Lori shared memories from her journey - from her earliest memories as a child, through her search and ultimate discovery of her life's work through the Jewish faith.  Rabbi Lori generously shared stories from the different bumps she experienced on her road to self-discovery, inspiring our girls with the simple reminder that life is not always clear and that in moments of challenge, the best thing to do is quite simply, to rise to the occasion. 

 

Always a captivating speaker, Rabbi Lori concluded her talk with the prayer,  "May you find your song, your inner voice and in moments of challenge may you rise up, listen to your truth and act, setting your destiny and the way forward for your future."
