Marymount Athletics honors standout Sailors

The Winter sports have officially begun their 2014-15 season. The teams have been working hard during their pre-season practices to better prepare themselves for their action packed season. All of our Sailor athletes have been very active and dedicated to improving their game this year.

For the month of November, our Marymount Coaches would like to acknowledge the following student athletes for their contributions to their team. For pre-season Water Polo, Coach Christie Clark nominated Rachel Liao as Athlete of the Week for the November 10th recognition. Rachel consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and is an overall positive force both in and out of the pool. Fellow Athlete of the Week honoree,

Kate Zuckerman was recognized for all of her success on the Equestrian team. Kate placed 1st in her dressage test and 12th in her Hunter Seat Equestrian Class. Good work, Kate!

For the week of November 17th, Head JV Basketball Coach Jameia McDuffie nominated Charlotte Lawrence as Athlete of the Week. Charlotte came in ready to compete since Day 1. Her positive energy is infectious and is exactly what the young JV team needs. In just the first week of practice, Charlotte has displayed many characteristics of a good teammate.

Rounding off Athlete of the Week honors for the month of November are Naomi Smith and Mia Whitney. The JV Soccer goalies are extremely hard workers that show a great amount of leadership. They always come to practice with a positive attitude and are great to work with. Congratulations to all girls who were honored this month! Keep up the great work as you continue through your season. Go Sailors!
