Other Campaigns & Special Gifts

This school year, Marymount awarded $2.1 million in need-based assistance
to 1 in 4 of our girls.

Endowment

Marymount’s Endowment is a cornerstone in securing the School’s long-term financial stability. The generous support of donors who believe in the future of Marymount, has grown the Endowment from $3 million in 2009 to $23 million in 2024.

The Endowment supports three distinct mission-aligned pillars:

Tuition Assistance
Ensures that the tuition assistance program will remain broad in scope, serving students from households throughout our city.

Faculty & Staff
Assists in attracting and retaining excellent faculty through professional development opportunities, competitive salaries, and abundant classroom resources.

Academic Co-Curricular Programs
Provides operational funds for new and innovative curriculum and programs.

Special Funds

Marymount has several opportunities for special or designated gifts that directly impact the experience of our girls. One of the most critical initiatives is the Named Scholarship Program, which directly supports individual girls throughout their four years at Marymount.

Named Scholarships

The Named Scholars Program
enables Marymount to assure families that a scholarship designation will remain with a student throughout her years at Marymount, provided her financial need remains, and that she upholds the general criteria established for her designated scholarship award.

All gifts to Marymount may be made in honor or memory of a beloved family member or friend.

Named Scholars can be established with the following gift levels:

  • $250,000: Establishment of a Named Scholar Endowment that will serve students in perpetuity, each one from her freshman through senior year.
  • $100,000: Commitment of $25,000 annually for four years to provide assistance to one student from her freshman through senior year.

Jacqueline L. Landry Inspiring Boldness Speaker Series

At the close of the Centennial Academic Year (2023 – 2024), Head of School Jacqueline L. Landry will begin her own next chapter knowing confidently that Marymount is well-positioned to continue to thrive for the next hundred years and beyond. To honor her 15-year tenure (2009 – 2024) and extraordinary legacy, the Board of Trustees has chosen to designate funds to endow the Jacqueline L. Landry Inspiring Boldness Speaker Series. Endowing this powerful program will ensure that the signature series that Ms. Landry established at Marymount will continue into perpetuity.

Since its inception, this hallmark program has featured preeminent women such as Nobel Peace Prize recipient Leymah Gbowee; award-winning writer and director Amy Adrion; nationally acclaimed author Cindy Solomon; United States Army Corps of Engineers, Major General Kim Colloton; and Academy Award-winning actor, activist, and producer Geena Davis.

Margo Leonetti O’Connell ’60 SAILL Program

Marymount is honored to have received a generous gift from the Leonetti/O’Connell Family Foundation to fully endow the Margo Leonetti O’Connell SAILL Program (Students Advancing in Internship Leadership and Learning). This visionary gift from a beloved alumna ensures that Marymount’s internship program will continue to grow and flourish for generations of students to come.

The SAILL Program is open to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors and provides students with the opportunity to work with extraordinary mentors who are not only role models but who have made important contributions within their chosen fields.

The SAILL Program has rapidly grown from fewer than five students a decade ago to more than 70 student interns each summer. This signature program fosters personal, educational, and professional growth as students become involved with a community of scholars and leaders outside of Marymount, while also learning the technicalities of various professions within some of the most renowned organizations in Los Angeles.

Planned Gifts

A planned gift (or bequest) is a wonderful way to support Marymount. Donors who make a gift to Marymount in their will become members of The Mother Butler Heritage Society, Marymount’s special legacy giving club. Click here to learn more about our planned giving program.
