  • Step 1: Complete the Online Inquiry Form

Please note: If you have already completed the inquiry form, then you are in our database and do not need to fill out the form again.

Future Applicants: Please fill out an inquiry form so we can be aware of your interest in Marymount - and to receive important email and mail communications from the Office of Admission.
  • Step 2: Complete the Online Application

The Marymount online admission application is not live at this time. Contact Patti Lemlein at [email protected] for any questions.
The 2021-22 application will be live in August.

Marymount also accepts the Standard Application Online (SAO), which is a common application shared among many independent schools through the Enrollment Management Association. Families applying to more than one independent school may find the SAO to be convenient.

Families will complete either the Marymount application or the SAObut not both

  • Step 3: Interview with a member of Marymount’s Administration/Faculty

Interviews are held from November through the first week of February. Once you have submitted the application, you can self-schedule your family's interview in the myMarymount system. Both student and parent(s) will spend individual time with a member of the Marymount community.
  • Step 4: Download Recommendation Forms

Administrator, Math, and English Teacher Recommendation Forms for 2020-21.

All Recommendation Forms for 2021-22 will be available in August. They can be completed after December 1, 2020, but submitted no later than January 15, 2021.

The Administrator Recommendation form should be completed by your daughter’s current Head of School/Principal, Middle School Director, or Counselor. The Teacher Recommendation forms should be given to your daughter’s current English and Mathematics teachers.

Parents should download the forms, email them to your daughter's recommenders, and they can complete and submit their recommendations via email directly to [email protected]
  • Step 5: Request a complete transcript from current school

The Transcript Request Form should be submitted to your daughter’s current school.  The transcript must include the past two years' final grades and her current year's first trimester/semester grades and any standardized test scores.  Transcripts must be emailed directly to Marymount High School at [email protected]

  • Step 6: Marymount Writing Assessment

Marymount will require a 25-minute essay writing assessment, proctored online for all applicants. This unscored writing sample provides the admission committee with a feel for prospective student written communication skills and overall thought organization.
  • Step 7: Optional Character Skills Snapshot

Character and personal growth are an integral part of a Marymount education. Often grades don't tell the whole story. The Character Skills Snapshot gives us another lens to see the student in areas such as open-mindedness, resilience, and social awareness.
For the students who are applying from a school where their teachers are unable to complete teacher recommendations, we plan to ask students to take a 25-minute online  Character Skills Snapshot assessment. This will also be optional for any applicant who chooses to take the assessment. For more details click here
*Decision notification letters for 2021-22 applicants will be mailed and emailed March 5, 2021, to each candidate who has a complete file. Should you apply after the deadline, the Admission Committee will make decisions on a rolling basis depending on space availability.
Marymount admits students without regard to race, color, national or ethnic origin to all rights and privileges, programs and activities available to students. It does not discriminate in the administration of educational policies, admission policies, financial aid programs, athletic programs or any other school administered program.

No Test Admission Policy

For the 2021-22 Admission Season
Marymount High School
will no longer require
ISEE scores in the evaluation of admission files.

In these uncertain times, we feel flexibility, and reduction of stress and expense for families going through the admissions process to be very important.  Preparing for a test, whether it is at-home or in-person, causes a lot of anxiety and is often not accessible to all applicants. By removing admission testing, MHS will make the admission experience more pleasant and create an equitable process for all applicants.

We are confident that the information we gather in the admission process, derived from the student and parent/guardian questions on the application, interviews, teacher recommendations, transcripts, and previous standardized testing, will provide us with a holistic view of each applicant.
