A Letter from the Interim Head of School
Dear Marymount Family:
The start of this new year has brought both the promise of renewal and profound challenges. For many of us, this season has been marked by uncertainty, loss, and moments of deep reflection. Yet, within this complexity, we have also witnessed the remarkable strength, compassion, and resilience that define our Marymount community. Within the last week and a half, I have heard from alumnae and Les Anges from a variety of generations, across the country and around the world, from our RSHM and our network schools across the globe, and from generations of students, faculty and staff all of whom have sent love, hope, compassion, and prayer.
As we returned to campus Wednesday, the energy of our students has been a beacon of hope. I have seen them support one another with quiet understanding and with bursts of joy, from meaningful conversations to shared laughter over the small, everyday moments that our students cherish. These interactions are a testament to the enduring spirit of our school—a place where students are nurtured, loved, and valued, especially in times of adversity. In these moments of connection, I am reminded of the power of community to provide comfort, hope, and a sense of belonging.
This strength extends beyond our students. It is woven into the very fabric of our school, evident in the ways our faculty, staff, and leadership have risen to the challenges before us. Through thoughtful collaboration and steadfast dedication, they have worked tirelessly to ensure that our students and families feel supported and cared for. Their unwavering commitment highlights what makes Marymount unique: an unyielding focus on relationships, a deep well of empathy, and a shared purpose that binds us together.
As a school rooted in the charism of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, we understand the importance of leaning into difficult moments with care and intention. These past weeks have reinforced the strength of our collective resilience and our capacity to face uncertainty together. Whether through acts of generosity, moments of connection, or simply showing up for one another, this community continues to demonstrate the power of kindness and collaboration.
We also know that healing is not linear. As we navigate the weeks and months ahead, we will continue to listen, adapt, and stand by each other, fostering the trust and care that sustain us during difficult times. To those directly impacted by the wildfires, please know that our thoughts and hearts are with you. To the entire Marymount family, thank you for embodying the compassion, determination, and strength that define this community.
It is a privilege to walk this path with you. Together, we will continue to find light, hope, and joy even in the most challenging times, so that All May Have Life and Have it to the Full.
With love and gratitude,
Dawn Regan
