After noticing a warped image of women in film and television, Ms. Davis created the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media.  The Institute, primarily focused on media designed for children under 11, is the only research-based organization working within the media and entertainment industry to engage, educate, and influence the need for creating gender balance and reducing stereotyping of female characters for entertainment.
