The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition open to high school students who enter by taking the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. This is the 67th year of the competition and this year has over 16,000 semi-finalists.

These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships that will be offered next spring and have fulfilled several requirements that spotlight their abilities, skills, accomplishments, and academic performance.

Julie Whittell, Academic Dean, said this is a great achievement for Hannah and it spotlights her dedication to academic achievement. "We are all so very proud of her and will support her as she continues in this competition!" said Mrs. Whittell.

Phillip Petrone, Co-Director of College Counseling also shared his enthusiasm, saying, "We are very proud of Hannah for being recognized as one of the top students in the Class of 2022 nationally.  She is extremely hard working and talented; we look forward to supporting her as she pursues a National Merit Scholarship."
