Frosh/Soph Volleyball team made a strong showing at The Redondo Union JV Tournament on Saturday. The sailors dropped their first match to Cathedral Catholic’s #1 seeded JV team. However, great team defense and smart shots from Zoe Q. ‘26 and Kate E. ‘26 helped the Sailors get close to snatching the second set. The team was able to maintain their high level of play, and beat Bishop Montgomery’s JV team in three sets. Right side pins Franziska K. ‘25 and Scarlett C. ‘26 brought the heat at the net, while dominant serving from Ashley S. ‘26 and Ava G. ‘26 helped secure a 15-5 win in the third set. The sailors weren’t able to pull out the final match of pool play against Santa Monica, but great passing and serving by Suhaila T. ‘26 gave the team a fighting chance. It was a great day of competition which helped the team sharpen their skills. On to the next one!
