Harvey Mudd College President Dr. Maria Klawe to speak at Commencement 2014

 
Internationally renowned computer scientist and Harvey Mudd College President Dr. Maria Klawe will speak at Marymount's Commencement on Friday, May 23. 
 
Dr. Klawe is the first woman to lead the College since its founding in 1955. Prior to her appointment at Harvey Mudd, Dr. Klawe served as the Dean of Engineering and a professor of computer science at Princeton University. 

Dr. Klawe also previously served at the University of British Columbia, IBM Research and the University of Toronto; she received her Ph.D. from the University of Alberta. An important and significant authority in the areas of computer science and mathematics, Dr. Klawe is an internationally renowned speaker who lectures at conferences throughout the US and Canada.
 
Dr. Klawe is a committed to making STEM education readily accessible to diverse groups in the K-12 arena, and is considered an international thought leader in the area of women in STEM education.
