Applying to Marymount

The 2019-20 admission application deadline of Dec. 20th has now passed.  If you want to inquire about the possibility of a late application, please contact Patti Lemlein at plemlein@mhs-la.org.  

Should you apply after the deadline, the Admission Committee will make decisions on a rolling basis after March 8th decisions, depending on space availability.

  • Step 1: Complete the Online Inquiry Form

    Please note: If you have already completed the inquiry form, then you are in our database and do not need to fill out the form again. 

    Future Applicants: Please fill out an inquiry form so we can be aware of your interest in Marymount - and to receive important email and mail communications from the Office of Admission.
  • Step 2: Complete the Online Application

    Click here to access the online application.

    You may click here for a step-by-step tutorial regarding how to complete our online application.  This tutorial includes information regarding how to obtain your login information. Once you have your login information, you will be able to begin the online application!

  • Step 3: Interview with a member of Marymount’s Administration/Faculty

    Interviews are held from November through the first week of February. Once you have completed the application, the Office of Admission will contact you regarding your interview date and time. Both student and parent(s) will spend individual time with a member of the Marymount community.
  • Step 4: Register for and take the ISEE

    CLICK HERE to register for the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). 

    You may test at any school administering the ISEE. The ISEE must be taken no later than Saturday, January 19, 2019  in order to ensure we receive the official results no later than February 1, 2019. Please have the official scores sent to Marymount High School by using our school code (051715).
  • Step 5: Download Recommendation Forms

    Administrator, Math, and English Teacher Recommendation Forms for 2019-20.


    The Administrator Recommendation form should be completed by your daughter’s current Head of School/Principal, Middle School Director or Counselor. The Teacher Recommendation forms should be given to your daughter’s current English and Mathematics teachers. 

    2019-20 forms must be received directly from the recommenders by January 18, 2019.

    You may also download the forms, email them to your daughter's recommenders, and they can complete and submit their recommendations via email to admission@mhs-la.org. 
  • Step 6: Request a complete transcript from current school

    The Transcript Request Form should be submitted to your daughter’s current school.  The transcript must include her completed first trimester/semester grades to be considered for admission.  Transcripts (including standardized test scores) must be sent directly to Marymount High School by January 18, 2019 for 2019-20 applicants.
  • Step 7: Optional: Shadow Visits

    A limited number of spaces are available for our December, January and February 2019 Shadow Visit Days. Exact dates will be announced in November.  Students are given an insider's view into a day in the life of a Marymount girl. This event is only available to applicants and is an optional step in the admission process. Attendance will not be factored into the candidates admission decision.
*Decision letters will be mailed and emailed March 8, 2019 to each candidate who has a complete file. Should you apply after the deadline, the Admission Committee will make decisions on a rolling basis depending on space availability.

Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)

Marymount requires all applicants to take the ISEE by Saturday, January 19, 2019, in order to ensure receipt before the Admission Committee meets. If you are unable to comply with this request, please contact the Office of Admission.

What to Expect on the ISEE is a publication available for order on the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) website to familiarize test takers with the examination.
