Softball vs Culver City – 2.21.19

On an overcast day, Marymount traveled to Culver City to play their second game in a week. After a scoreless first inning, the Sailors got things started in the second inning scoring one run on Devin W.’s stolen base. On the mound, Devin W. pitched an amazing game. Going eight and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out 11 opponents. Offensively Drew B., Mika J., and Devin W. all had one hit. Mary C. came up to the plate and battled aggressively winning a 12 pitch at bat in the top of the ninth inning. But it wasn't enough to give the Marymount crew the win. It came down to the last play of the game. Tied at three with Culver City batting in the bottom of the ninth and two outs, the Centaurs batter singled on the first pitch and scored the one run needed to win the game. The Sailors lose a close one 3-4.
